In my opinion the iPod Classic 120GB is the best iPod on the iPod market, and probably the iSee Crystal Hard Clear Case is the best case for the iPod Classic. If the main purpose of getting an iPod for you is to simply enjoy listening to music and want to put your ENTIRE music library as well as your wife's CDs and your kids' pop or rap music in this small pod, and this would serve the owner better than anything else I can think of. To compare this with iPod Touch, for example, why would you need a flashy touch screen display or games, or get on to the internet via Wi-Fi? If the hard disc in iPod Touch was as big as 120GB, maybe, but its biggest hard disc size is 64GB, and its software is already using some of the space too.
On iPod Classic 120GB or 160GB, you can put literally thousands of tunes and photos, and I put some music videos and some video clips that I transferred from my digital cameras, and I still have tons of hard disc space left! If you have hundreds of CD albums in your iPod, you can flick and search a particular one in a matter of few seconds with the Central Control Wheel, but with the iPod Touch you need to flick with your finger from right to left over and over again until you finally find the right one, which I'm too impatient to do! The iPod Nano's hard disc capacity (8-16GB) is slightly too small for me, so if you're like me I would recommend you to get one of the large Classic ones either 80, 120 or 160GB depending on your needs. Just to let you know, however, if you get the 80GB or the older version of 160GB, you may not be able to use the wonderful 'Genius' function, which is a far cleverer shuffling & compilation function than the ordinary 'Shuffle'. So I would recommend 120GB or the latest version of 160GB.
Hope this helps!
Ive had this ipod since it was first released. Im not very good with gadgets, but i managed to get past the stages of opening the box and pulling out all the bits. I had it all set up on my laptop within an hour, and even stupid me managed to download music id bought. Its the best item i have. I can load up audio books, music, photos and apps. Just buy the thing. Its easy to use and it will be like your left arm. You will be amazed at what this little pandora's box can do.I have had this for 1 year and 4 months, but it froze when I added the security code and the Apple store cannot fix it. At the price I paid this is disgraceful. With the new series of iPod classics, Apple has (finally) brought the sound quality in line with its competitors, especially if you junk the boxed earphones and buy a decent quality pair. This ought to merit five stars for this, but alas the real problems lie with the iTunes interface. Apple unashamedly state that the player needs to upload music only with iTunes, and music downloaded from other sources is sometimes not recognised, even when the file format is compatible; occasionally iTunes states that the player cannot be ejected after uploading music because files were not obtained through iTunes. Other problems occur, sometimes for example, not all the tracks from a given album download, even when they have just been paid for! meaning that you have to use their customer support service. Also the ability to download album cover art is absurdly limited. There is no excuse whatsoever for not being able to access cover art for any album recorded in the last twenty years. As an example, I cannot, for instance, believe that the cover art for Pink Floyd's "The Division Bell" cannot be found, when it is considered such a classic that it is being considered for use on a postage stamp! WAKE UP APPLE!!hi
Whanted a mobile music player for my music collection as i was tired of transfering all my cd's from the car to my house each day.
With this i pod it does what it says on the box, i have an extensive music collection and i still have loads of space left. I am still trying to download podcasts but not got it yet. I bought the flip cover for this model and thats a good buy as well. I did buy a better pair of earphones as i felt the ones supplied were a bit "tinny" with the sound repro. Other wise no problems would give it a big thumbs up
